Don't miss what may well be a World First - farm-inspired Parkour!
Come and watch, or have a go, as we give the Parkour trend an agricultural flavour. Our Parkour premieres Friday with demonstrations from 5.30-8.30pm then workshops and a chance to test your skills Saturday from 9am - 4pm.
So what is Parkour? It started as a French military training exercise navigating the most efficient path through an obstacle course but now it's practised all over the world, in forests and urban jungles, as a new generation experiments with all kinds of moves, from the tic-tac to the gap jump, and a philosophy that every obstacle can be overcome! In our version, you'll discover all sorts of agricultural obstacles in a parkour challenge with a difference.
Kyneton Idol unearthed some incredible local talent and now the Music in the Sticks team is looking for more with our first Open Mic competition. They'll provide all the back line gear - drum kit, bass amp, guitar amp - just bring your instruments or your iPod to plug in. Every entrant performs 3 songs in a 15 minute slot so you've got more than one chance to strut your stuff and show off your range and repertoire. There are cash prizes to be won - $150 first prize!
It's all happening in the big marquee down near the tennis courts from 6pm so be there to check out the talent or contact Nat Korinfsky at email@example.com or on 0439 642 192 to register and for more information.
