All Fleeces entered are to be skirted and prizes awarded on the following points
1          Trueness of type                  10 points
2          Conformity of length             10 points
3          Soundness                          10 points
4          Handle                                 8 points
5          Colour of bloom                     6 points
6          Character                            10 points
7          Density                                6 points
8          Evenness                            10 points
9          Clean Fleece weight             30 points

Classes 9-12 inclusive - Lamb and Weaner classes:
No points to be awarded for weight.
Maximum points will be 70.

REGULATIONS

All exhibits to be in Stewards’ hands by 5pm on Thursday November 18th. Steward will be in attendance at Showground’s to receive fleeces all day Thursday, November 18th. Judging Friday November 19th.
The Wool must be of bulk quality mentioned in each Class.
The Judge shall have the power to transfer any Fleece wrongly classed.
Fleeces with more than 13 months growth, or a Ram’s Fleece (excepting ram’s Classes), may be disqualified at the discretion of the Judge.
All exhibits must be shorn from sheep that have been the property of the Exhibitor.
Exhibitors may enter as many Fleeces as desired in any class.
The Society suggests that exhibitors fold a wool cap or bag around each exhibit with owner’s name and number of Class in which it is entered.

Class 1           Ultra Fine Merino 16.5 micron and finer
Class 2           Superfine Merino 16.5 to 19 micron (18.9 to be concise)
Class 3           Fine Merino 19 to 20 micron         
Class 4           Medium 21- 22 micron
Class 5           Strong merino 23 to 24 micron
Class 6           Fine Crossbred 26, 27 & 28 micron
Class 7           Medium Crossbred 30 Micron
Class 8           Strong Crossbred 31 micron and stronger
Class 9           Sample of Merino Lambs Wool 18 to 21 micron
Class 10        Sample of Crossbred Lambs Wool 27 to 30 micron 
Class 11        Fine Merino Weaner 16 to 20 microns
Class 12        Medium Merino Weaner 21 to 23 microns
Class 13        Best Merino Ram’s Fleece. Fine, Medium or Strong

Black and Coloured Fleeces

Class 14        Fine Wool Fleece 21 micron and finer
Class 15        Medium Wool Fleece 22 to 26 micron
Class 16        Strong Wool Fleece 27 to 30 micron
Class 17        Rug Wool Fleece 32 micron and stronger
Class 18        Best Black and Coloured Rams Fleece. Fine,                     Medium, Strong or Rug wool.

Alpaca Fleeces

Class 19        Best Huacaya Fleece

Best Pair Merino Fleeces

“Eilan Donan” Perpetual Trophy has been donated by Messrs H and I MacRae of “Eilan Donan”, Elphinstone, and is to be competed for annually, and awarded for the Best Pair of Merino Fleeces, property of one owner, eligible for and entered in one of the following Classes 1,2,3, 4 and 5.  Prizes to be awarded for (a) evenness of pair, (b) value per kilo., (c) general excellence.
